“Whip My Hair” Official Video, Photos, Remix, And More!

On Monday, October 18, 2010, 9 year old Willow Smith released the official video to her new single "Whip My Hair"  on BET's 106 & Park and Vevo.  The single is soon to be released on iTunes for download.  Willow, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's only daughter, is found wearing a variety of hairstyles which include braided individual hair extensions, braided large bantu knots, and a couple fro/weave-hawks in the mix.   Her hair is shaved on the sides from her previous hairstyles.  With the addition of some great choreography and 90's fashion, Willow's first video was and is a viral hit!  Willow offered the following quote about the meaning of her video, " 'Whip My Hair' means don't be afraid to be yourself," Smith explained, "and don't let anybody tell you that that's wrong. Because the best thing is you." (MTV News).

I absolutely love the video because of the artistic imagery and creativity used to give energy and attitude to the hair action going on throughout the video.   Willow is so adorable and talented just like the rest of her family.  I think the song is catchy and cute and offers a funky way to 'whip' your hair.   Having said that, excuse me while I whip my hair...
