Summer 2009 Update

My summer look for 2009

My summer look for 2009

Hey everyone!  It feels like it's been AGES since I've updated my blog.  Reality is that I've been busy paying bills and making ends meet during this downturn in our economy.  The upside is that I still have a roof over my head and have many other things to be thankful for.  I hope you all are coping as well.

I wanted to add an update about my hair this Summer.  For quite some time, I had been searching for the perfect curly hairstyle to wear for the Summer.  I wanted it to be a weave to give my hair the time it needed to rest and grow without major manipulation.  Given that I'm physically active with my workouts, I needed something that was easy to manage.  I finally opted for the Outre Indian Hair Jerry Curl to get the look that I wanted.  I pinned up the wefts of hair in different positions before finally sewing them in myself, just to make sure that I was pleased with the end result... and yes, I've been pleased for the almost two months that I've worn it.

Pro's about Outre Jerry Curl:

  • Has a great color
  • Soft
  • Goes right back to the curl after getting wet (doesn't frizz)
  • No product is needed, it does fine all by itself

Con's about Outre Jerry Curl:

  • It sheds a lot
  • Looses its fresh look after it goes through water at least two times
  • I have to constantly fluff it out to keep the fullness that I desire, without having to jam a lot of wefts onto my head
  • Will actually look like a Jerry Curl after wetting if you're not careful (lol)

All in all, I'm very pleased with this hair for the time that I needed it.  Whenever a weft gets old I just replace it with a new one from the remaining hair that I still have.  Well that's it for now.  Any reviews?  Let me know what you think!

About Coily Queen

I blog about products, techniques, and processes that work for my type 4 a/b coily hair. My goal is to help teach women and men about my African coily hair texture so that they too can learn how to manage and style 'coily hair.' I get my motivation for my posts from your comments, so please, don't be shy--ask a question or leave a comment!
