Hey Folks,
Here's yet another continuation of the final results of the 2010 Healthy Scalp ♥ Healthy Hair Challenge! Wow, the condition of my hair has greatly improved overall. Protective styling keeps my hands and combs out of my hair, allowing the hair to retain its condition and do what it does best--GROW. Now, I did notice that the colored parts of my hair are the weakest parts of my hair, therefore my ends have been breaking. Chemical hair dyes cause the hair strand to swell and therefore can never truly be 100% healthy. I just have to continue to grow out the dye out... about two years and counting ;-)
Below are photos of my freshly washed two stranded twists. What I normally will do is:
- rinse twists under running water
- spritz scalp with non sulfate shampoo and rub with the pads of my fingers to lather up and wash the scalp
- scrunch and squeeze excess shampoo into the twists
- rinse
- add deep conditioner and leave in for a period of time
- rinse while using pads of my fingers to assist with rinsing conditioner residue off of scalp
- scrunch excess conditioner and water out of twists by squeezing sections of the twists
- spritz with leave in conditioner
- pat a moisturizing creme into the hair
- seal with a light oil or styling foam and let airdry, or tie a scarf to lessen frizzies
