April 2012 #Naturalhair Update

Not much difference, right?  I thought I'd snap pics for myself.  I actually was expecting a difference and to my surprise my hair looked the same dry as it did when it was damp an hour and a half ago.  I have to attribute this to the fact that my hair is in twists (and some braids) which tends to hold the hair in place lengthwise.  I also don't stretch my hair, meaning, I don't pull my twists so that they appear longer.  I wear them in their natural coiled up state.  My hair is fine and porous, so the less I do to it, the less stress my hair will feel.  EDIT:  I must also add that I slathered both refined and an unrefined shea butter moisturizer throughout my shampoo'd and conditioned hair, and followed it with jojoba oil.

For the past year and 4 weeks, I've been wearing my hair in individual twists without ever wearing my hair out or even redoing my whole head.  Yep... the same twist style from last March 2011!  I really didn't think it could be done, but I guess it can ;-)   And I'm still going.  I don't actually have an end date to my personal twists challenge but I sure am loving the experience (more posts about this later).

So, how long have you gone with twists?  How does your hair react to 'shrinkage'?
